Kristen Cumming is a career development practitioner with 15 years experience and a passion for demographics. Her contributions to the career development community include participation in the Alberta Symposia on Public Policy and Career Development, serving as Co-Chair of the Common Language working group under the auspices of Working Connections, serving as Chair of Communications for the Career Development Association of Alberta, and as an Advisory Board Member for Alberta Learning Information Service. She has contributed to several educational and career development resources including Career Prep’s Pick Up and Go Kits and Safety@Work Virtual Reality student resource, Elk Island Public School’s CALM and CTS teacher resources, Alberta Education’s CTS portal resource, and Alberta Employment and Immigration’s youth magazine and teacher resource (February 2009). She works as a sessional Instructor for Red Deer College, where she has developed and instructs Introduction to Industry Sectors, a course focused on career development, labour market trends and employability. She operates Career InSight, a successful consulting practice through which she works as a speaker, contractor and consultant on projects including personal and organizational career development, labour market trends, recruitment and retention, and worker / learner engagement.
